This Privacy Policy describes how Onenergy Institute (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the LaQi (拉气) mobile application (“the App”).
Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign in — with Google, Apple, or email and password — we receive your name, email address, and profile photo (if available) through Google Firebase Authentication. LaQi shares its sign-in system with the Onenergy app, so the same account works in both apps.
Practice and progress data
We store your practice sessions (minutes practiced, session counts), rewards (Qi points, XP, level, streaks), completed lessons, quests and milestones, and the cosmetic items you own and equip.
Social features (optional)
If you use Circle features, we store data needed to provide them: your public leaderboard entry (display name, photo, and score), your presence status while practicing, buddy connections and requests, squad memberships, and — only if you opt in to “List me in Find buddies” — a short public profile with your intro and goals. You can turn this listing off at any time in your Profile.
Referrals
If you share or redeem an invite code, we store the referral relationship to grant rewards to both accounts.
What we do NOT collect
The App does not collect your precise location, contacts, microphone or camera data, health data, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell your personal information.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate the App: authentication, saving your progress, and syncing across devices.
- To provide social features you choose to use (leaderboards, buddies, squads).
- To grant referral rewards.
- To maintain the security and integrity of our services.
Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), operated by Google LLC, subject to Google’s privacy and security practices. Media assets in the App (sounds, artwork) are delivered from our content delivery network; requesting these files does not create user profiles.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers above (Google Firebase) as needed to run the App, or if required by law. Information you choose to make public in the App (leaderboard entries, buddy profile, squad membership) is visible to other users.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You may request deletion of your LaQi account and its data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Because LaQi shares sign-in with Onenergy, deleting your shared login account will remove access to both apps; you can also request deletion of your LaQi data only.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by Firebase security rules that restrict each user’s private data to their own account.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
